In 2010 I started college for ag-business and chased cans (ran barrels) on my college rodeo team. Halfway through my sophomore year, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter Skyler. Skyler was born in August, we got married in October, and I spent the next six months trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life.
During that time, I picked up my camera like every new mom and started snapping photos of my little one. It wasn't long before I decided to open up shop and create my own photography business.
One of the most frustrating things that I found while learning how to photograph weddings was that none of the prominent educators built their businesses with kids.
So many of them were single or husband-wife teams that seemed to have endless amounts of time to devote to their business and marketing-- time that I didn't have.
I felt alone, like I had missed my chance to start a business pre-kids, and I would always be behind.

Lone Oak Farm is located 9 miles west of Amenia, North Dakota, a scenic thirty minute drive from Fargo, North Dakota. You’ll travel through the most beautiful farmland in the midwest, and through the rolling plains of the Red River Valley. Located far enough away from Fargo to be rural, but close enough to be easily accessible.
FAR, named one of the best airports in the US, is the closest international airport.
The closest hotel is just 15 minutes from the venue in Casselton at the Governor's Inn. Alternatively, the Fargo-Moorhead Metro offers numerous lodging options. Or you could just stay at the farm house with us!

Ditch the 15- 30 minute drive from the hotel and bunk with me, not really you get your own bed. Come enjoy an immersive workshop experience by staying on location at the recently renovated farmhouse. The farmhouse is where we will be doing most of our learning before we head out to the brand new modern barn for our stylized wedding shoots.
I believe that relationships are stronger when we share a meal together. Because of this, you will be served breakfast at the farmhouse in addition to the lunch and dinner that will be served to all attendees.
You're going to learn a lot in the two days you spend at this workshop, but more than anything I'm excited for you to meet like minded photographers and build a community of support with other workshop attendees, that will last long after the workshop ends.

What is included in the investment?
Your ticket includes the two day workshop, your workshop workbook, a welcome swag bag, a stylized engagement session, and a stylized wedding shoot. Lunches and dinners will be provided. If you upgrade to stay at the farm house you will also get a bed at the farmhouse as well as all meals.

What exactly will I learn?
I'm pulling back the curtain on everything I've learned while building a business with two kids in tow. We will go over my approach to photographing a wedding day, how to set up your business, pricing, marketing, and how to blend motherhood and business. - I know this needs more but not sure how to brag on it all
How should I get there?
Hector International Airport in Fargo, ND is the closest airport and is just 40 miles from Ayr, ND. The closest hotel is 15 minutes from the venue in Casselton, ND at the Governor's Inn.
Is there support after the workshop?
Yes! You will be added to a workshop alumni Facebook group so you can connect with fellow workshop attendees, as well as share your wins and progress as you grow your business. I'll also be active in the group cheering you on, and answering questions now and then as well!
Are tickets transferable?
Yes! If for some reason you can not make it to the workshop, you can sell your ticket or gift your ticket to another photographer who wasn't able to get a ticket.
What are the sleeping arraignments with the farmhouse experience?
There will be two bedrooms available on the main floor. One full bed and one with a queen bed. The upstairs loft has 3 full beds. There are two full bathrooms on the main level as well. Rooms and bed choice will be given based on the order you purchased your ticket. You will be emailed within 48 hours of purchasing your ticket to let you know what number you are, and you can choose your room right away, or wait until the evening of the 12th.
